Gettysburg's Growing Place

Gettysburg’s Growing Place will offer a summer camp program in 2026 designed for children who have completed kindergarten through fifth grade. The camp provides full-day care from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and focuses on hands-on learning and recreation through weekly themed activities that blend science, technology, creative arts, nature exploration, and other educational experiences.

The program emphasizes screen-free, age-appropriate activities led by professional teachers and is structured to give families flexible scheduling options. Parents may select only the weeks their child will attend, allowing for customized summer participation. Weekly themes include Adventure in the Arts, Science Sleuths, Seed to Table, Makers and Inventors, Blast Off to Space, Nature Explorer, and Full STEM Ahead, among others, running from early June through early August.

Camp tuition is $240 per week, with an additional activity fee based on the number of weeks selected. Families registering by March 13 receive a one-time $30 tuition credit, and a 10% sibling discount is available. A $25 non-refundable registration fee is required to reserve a child’s place, and schedules may be adjusted until May 1.

Breakfast, milk, and an afternoon snack are provided daily, while children must bring a packed lunch. The program also includes local or on-campus field trips connected to weekly themes. The camp is held at Gettysburg’s Growing Place on the Gettysburg College campus and is designed to provide reliable, engaging summer care that supports both learning and exploration.
